Emily Nevin Presta
Hydroxycut® Success StoryA visual reminder was Emily's key to
weight-loss success.
A picture tells a thousand words. For Emily Nevin-Presta of Montana, this saying holds so much truth. Prior to her weight-loss success, Emily wasn't that pleased with the way that she looked. “I don't want to sound generic, but looking back at my 'before' pictures, I was really feeling insecure and unhappy,” says Emily. She no longer enjoyed shopping for clothes, as she didn't want to spend the money on bigger clothes. Her self-esteem was low. She knew she wanted to make
a change.
Even though she was active, Emily's shape started to change over time without her even realizing it. According to Emily, eating a lot of convenience foods and fast foods caused her to put on the excess weight. “I would be out at restaurants, and I wouldn't really care about what I ordered or ate,” she explains.
Emily's Tips for Weight Loss
- Stay ahead of your hunger. Eat small, planned meals throughout the day to keep your body fueled. When you let yourself get hungry, you'll eat worse.
- Prepare food ahead of time. It makes your meals quick and easy to prepare and makes snacking on the correct foods much easier.
- Drink enough water. It will help satisfy those urges that you think are hunger but are actually thirst.
- To curb cravings for sweets, chew sugar-free gum.
- If you have plans to go to a restaurant, look over the menu ahead of time and make your choices when you're not starving. Then, when at the restaurant, don't even look at the rest of the menu. Also, if you're ordering a large meal, ask for a take-home box right away and put half of the meal in the box before you start eating.
- Plan your cheats! I keep a “cheat list” for each week. If I'm dying to eat something bad, I write it on my list for my next cheat day or meal. That way, I feel some satisfaction knowing I will get it - eventually!
- Take snacks with you when you're on the go. If you know you'll be running errands and will probably feel hungry, take a protein bar with you to snack on so you don't do something you'll regret!
- If you have kids, don't keep junk food in the house just for them! They don't need it either, and if it's there, there's a better chance you'll eat it!
- I would really recommend using Hydroxycut® along with diet and exercise if you're looking to lose weight.
As for those photos from before her transformation? “When I look at myself in my 'before' pictures,” Emily says, “I just think to myself that I never want to be back there again.”
When Emily decided to make a change and begin her weight-loss plan, she found motivation in the same pictures that had previously pained her to look at. “My biggest inspiration throughout my transformation was looking at older pictures of myself,” says Emily. “I also had some old clothes that I used to wear, and I really wanted to be able to get back to where I was.”
With the help of Hydroxycut® and a well-thought-out, enjoyable diet plan and exercise program that incorporated circuit training and cardio training, Emily lost 21 pounds in 10 weeks. Losing the weight did wonders for her self-esteem. “My confidence level has definitely improved from before,” she says. Emily plans to maintain her great new shape by sticking to her diet and exercise program and continuing to use Hydroxycut® as part of her overall weight-loss strategy.
